VINYL COLOR CODING & HARNESS TAPE

Harness tape does two jobs that look identical on the roll. Wrapping a loom holds conductors together and protects them from abrasion — half-lapped for a stiff, sealed bundle, or open-spiral where the harness has to flex. Identifying a conductor is a short band of solid color that has to be legible and correct. Both want a conformable vinyl that stays where you put it.

This tape is 16 colors in a conformable 5-mil vinyl, 3/4" wide by 66-foot rolls on 1-1/2" diameter cores, temperature rated to 221ºF, CPSIA and RoHS compliant.

Its primary use is wire harnessing in the automotive, aircraft and aerospace industries. It meets GM/Packard Electric Division engineering specification ESM-4037, DIN 40633, and most European, US and Japanese specifications for color coding tapes. Twelve of the colors below are used in the Fiber-Optic Cable Color Code (TIA/EIA-598-A) scheme.

Other applications include color-coding glassware and equipment in hospitals and laboratories, where it is autoclave proof, and in food service facilities, where it withstands commercial dishwashing.
